Seth Robert, a regional operations manager with Canrig Drilling Technologies Ltd. has been a big part of the company’s growth. His military experience was part of the reason he was hired there.

“In the United States Marine Corps, I was as 6324 U/AH-1 helicopter avionics technician,” Robert said. “I served from 2000 to 2005 and was involved in Operation Iraqi Freedom. After completion of my service, I was hired by Canrig Drilling Technology, where I have been for the past six years.” Canrig, based in Houston, manufactures drilling equipment.

“Being a technology company, Canrig appreciated my experience and formal training that the military offered,” Robert said. “I started as an instrumentation technician, and within two years I was a supervisor overseeing operations in the North Texas Area. Within six months I received another promotion to area manager, overseeing all operations in Mid Continent, which includes all of Oklahoma and Arkansas. During the next two years, I spent time managing different districts in the United States, to include the Mid Continent, West Texas, along with Gulf Coast and offshore operations. Last year, I was promoted to Southern Region Operations Manager, where I oversee all operations in the Southern United States.”
