Mario Maiorana, a Penske Truck Leasing maintenance supervisor in Garland, Texas, served in the U.S. Air Force for eleven years. He saw action in Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraq Freedom, and also served in Operation Southern Watch in Kuwait. For the last six years, while working at Penske, he has been an Air Force Reservist, where he is a senior master sergeant and an engine production superintendent. Maiorana completed his bachelor’s degree while both working at Penske and serving in the reserves, and is close to being awarded a graduate degree.

He compared his career in the Air Force to Penske. “Both feature a high operations tempo, and there is small room for error,” he said. “My duties at Penske Truck Leasing include managing a staff of nine technicians and overseeing the maintenance of several hundred pieces of equipment, which includes trucks and trailers. I do parts ordering, coordinate maintenance, and interface with customers on a daily basis.”
