Joseph Bandlow, Jr., a former commander in the Navy’s Supply Corps, is vice president, transportation, at Dollar General.  While in the Navy, he worked in various logistics management capacities, including serving as a contracting officer in the procurement of new ships.

“I also served on three ships throughout my career as a ship’s supply officer, responsible for all repair parts inventories and management, food services, and shipboard supply services, including crew pay, bill pay, and other services such as the ship’s store, laundry, and barbering services,” Bandlow said.

At Dollar General, he is responsible for transportation of all merchandise from domestic and global vendors, as well as delivery of merchandise from the company’s 11 distribution centers to its stores. In addition, he is the leader of the company’s military employee resource group, called “Service-Minded Employees Reaching Vets Everywhere”.
