John Bohlinger, Director of Operations for McKesson U.S. Pharmaceutical, is a Marine Corps veteran. When I left the Marine Corps, I didn’t know what I was going to do with my life,” he said. “Being a military man was the only thing I ever thought of. I was lucky enough to get hired on with McKesson as a night shift order filler. This was meant to be a temporary job for me until I found ‘a real job.’ I believe the qualities that were instilled in me in the service – integrity, honesty, dedication, accountability, best-effort, etc. – allowed me the opportunity to excel at my job and opened up a lot of doors for career advancement.”

“McKesson values the same traits the Marine Corps and other branches instills in its rank and file: honesty, integrity, discipline, grace under pressure, and commitment. McKesson rewards effort along with results and after 16 years with them, I think I am a great example of that,” he said.

Bohlinger believes his experience in the Marines is what convinced McKesson to hire him. “Being a Marine was my life’s plan, as I wanted to make my family and country proud,” “McKesson saw that my resume was pretty limited, but I believe my enlistment in the Marine Corps gave them the confidence they needed to hire me over other candidates.”
