Sotera Defense Solutions, Inc., has over 1,400 employees who deliver counterterrorism, cyber operations, intelligence, C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance), and force mobility solutions to national security customers. Sotera serves the DoD, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the intelligence community, and federal law-enforcement agencies.
Company employees are engaged in a range of very different projects, programs, and tasks. Some employees are based in secure customer facilities; others are deployed outside the continental United States (OCONUS) directly supporting national security customers; and the remainder operate from Sotera’s corporate offices.
Employees that work at customer sites are often based in Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF’s) and work in shifts to provide 24×7 operations. Much of the work done by those employees requires a detailed analytical, scientific, and research and development focus, but team collaboration and knowledge sharing are also essential elements. Sotera has employees deployed in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other locations in direct support of customer missions in the field. And with veterans making up 20 percent of Sotera’s employees, it’s clear the company recognizes the value of military service.
