FEDERAL GOVERNMENT
FedsHireVets.gov is a website of the United States Office of Personnel Management designed to help veterans understand the federal hiring process. The site explains different veteran statuses and their meanings, and how to translate military experiences into civilian skill sets. The site also provides links to resources to help get veterans hired into federal positions.

The Department of Veterans Affairs and other federal offices are dedicated to veteran hiring. Many resources are in place to implement this policy, per President Barack Obama’s 2009 Executive Order 13518 to increase the employment of veterans within the federal government: http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/2009/pdf/E9-27441.pdf
