Scottrade was founded in 1980 to provide customers with a way to manage their own investments inexpensively. Headquartered in St. Louis, Scottrade enables investors to manage their accounts online, while offering personalized customer support from 496 offices nationwide.

Scottrade’s corporate philosophy is centered on providing associates the opportunity for professional growth, while maintaining a healthy balance of work and home life. Team members can communicate openly across any level of the organization.

Kari Meece is a recruitment supervisor for Scottrade and works at company headquarters. She has specialized in IT, executive, and administrative recruiting for more than eight years. Both her sister and brother-in-law are Army sergeants who recently returned from deployments to Iraq.

“We primarily source and hire talent within the financial services and information technology industries,” she said. “Our positions range from internships and brokerage branch hiring to hiring for a variety of positions at our headquarters locations within IT.

“We typically do not know someone is a vet until after they are hired if they disclose it,” Meece pointed out. “The hiring experience is the same for all of our associates. We have made an effort to attract veteran talent through postings on RecruitMilitary, ads in military magazines, and participation in career fairs. We are always searching for employees with excellent communication skills, a high level of commitment and professionalism, dedication, determination, honesty, and integrity. These traits happen to align well with U.S. military service creeds and our values.”
