I am pleased to report that we have filled out our schedule of Veteran Opportunity Expos for the first six months of 2013 – adding 28 events for that period. Our Expos are job fairs that are enhanced to include franchisors and educational institutions, in addition to employers. The events are free to men and women who are transitioning from active duty to civilian life, veterans who already have civilian work experience, members of the National Guard and reserve forces, and military spouses and other family members.
From 2006 through June 2013, we will have produced more than 450 events in over 50 cities. We expect to have our schedule for the remainder of 2013 ready by the time this issue “hits the streets.” Check our full schedule at https://events.recruitmilitary.com/schedule.
The events listed below for September through December 2012 are Hiring Our Heroes/RecruitMilitary Veteran Opportunity Expos, produced in collaboration with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. They are part of the Chamber’s Hiring Our Heroes veteran hiring career fair initiative. The Chamber began the initiative in March 2011 and scheduled 400 events for 2012.
Job seekers who attend our Expos get outstanding results, according to our post-event surveys. As I write this, the most recent results on hand are for events held in St. Louis and Colorado Springs on July 12, 2012. Of the job seekers who responded to the survey for St. Louis, 42.7 percent said they thought they would obtain job interviews as a result of attending the Expo. Below are the results for all of the events going back to May.

We invite you to attend the next Expo in your region. We cannot guarantee that you will get an interview as a result of attending. But, as our post-event surveys show, you will have a pretty good chance.
Best of luck in your job search, and thank you for serving in the armed forces of the United States.
